EPDM rubber sealing strip is a very commonly used type of sealing strip nowadays. So how to identify EPDM rubber strips?

1. Taste. The second grade rubber strips will have a certain odor, especially pungent. Normal rubber seals will only have a plastic smell, and high-quality ones will not even smell any odor.

2. Appearance. The appearance of the second sealing strip is very rough at first glance, and the hand feel is also very hard, without much pulling force. On the other hand, the good ones have a glossy appearance, a soft touch, and tensile strength.

3. Specific gravity. The secondary sealing strip has a particularly heavy density because the filling material used in production is heavy calcium or talc powder, which increases the density of the sealing strip. Good sealing strips, on the other hand, directly use light calcium carbonate as the filling material.

4. Install the door and window sealing strips onto the profile or directly wrap them around the plastic profile and place them in a high-temperature area for drying. The second adhesive strip will change color and become dusty on the contact surface of the profile when exposed to high temperatures, and may also turn yellow and leak oil.

5. Smell it with your nose. EPDM rubber strips have a rubber smell. Although they are synthetic rubber, they are still rubber, so they also have a rubber smell. Rubber strips have a plastic smell. In the industry, rubber strips are actually modified PVC, which is distinguished by their smell.

6. Fire the rubber strip with fire. The difference between rubber strip and EPDM rubber strip is that the rubber strip burns black gray and has some stickiness, which can be brushed by hand. However, EPDM rubber strip burns white gray and becomes a black surface by hand.
