Wood aluminum composite doors and windows are a new generation of doors and windows that have been widely used in recent years. The sealing strips used in them have better anti-corrosion, weather resistance, noise reduction and thermal insulation effects than ordinary door and window sealing strips. In terms of material selection, manufacturers with high requirements generally choose EPDM rubber or thermoplastic EPDM rubber as the raw material for wood aluminum composite doors and windows. The entire series of Lockwood aluminum doors and windows adopts EPDM sealing strips, and has strategically cooperated with the industry's leading enterprise METEOR in Germany to jointly develop matching sealing strips.
The main performance of EPDM products: the product is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, resistant to aging and high temperatures, stable in performance, and can maintain good performance in both summer and winter.
1. Steel skeleton triple composite, not easy to deform and shrink, assembled firmly, with good sealing performance;
2. Sealing strips are used for doors, windows, and curtain walls. The product has good elasticity, migration resistance, and can effectively block noise, dust, and wind and rain.
The performance and hazards of inferior rubber strips:
1. There is a phenomenon of surface oil leakage and precipitation, and the waste engine oil used for the rubber strip is not compatible with PVC. The surface of the sealing strip is prone to grease, and yellow marks are also stained on the surface of the profile. Even environmentally unfriendly, there are many volatile substances that pollute the air.
2. When the so-called plasticizers evaporate or seep out, the sealing strip will lose its original softness, become very hard, and quickly age and shrink, resulting in large gaps in the sealed part of the doors and windows, and poor sealing (water leakage, dust leakage). Especially, the steel lining inside plastic steel doors and windows will be quickly corroded. Many users often find that a lot of red liquid flows out from the pressure strip part inside the window during the rainy season, which is very dirty. That is, the steel lining of the doors and windows will be corroded too early due to water leakage, and the service life of the doors and windows will be greatly reduced.
In the production process of doors and windows, the input of sealing strips accounts for a small proportion, but their role cannot be ignored. So how to identify the quality of door and window sealing strips? Lockwood Aluminum Assistant teaches you several simple and effective identification methods:
1、 Smell with your nose to see if there is any odor. Normal PVC material will have a slight, mellow smell, which is almost imperceptible.
2、 Wrap the sealing strip tightly around the profile and leave it at high temperature for a period of time (on the roof or in a sunny place). Check if there is any dirt or discoloration on the contact surface between the profile and the sealing strip, if the dust on the surface of the sealing strip turns yellow (oil easily absorbs soil), if there is oil leakage, and if it gets dirty on the hands.
3、 Some cheaper sealing strip fillers may have a lot, so the surface will not be very shiny. Those that are cheap and have a dull appearance are not advisable.
4、 Look at the specific gravity, how many meters can be produced per kilogram. There are many manufacturers who tamper with the use of fillers. In order to pursue greater production, they use talcum powder, heavy calcium and other materials as fillers (to save some electricity), greatly increasing the proportion of sealing strip products. (Our users usually buy by kilogram and use by length) This invisibly increases the cost, which is not worth the loss. Add a sealing strip with heavy calcium and stretch it back and forth several times by hand, and a small amount of white powder will appear on its surface.
